Unfortunately, each new version of ClipGrab keeps crashing my system, I do not understand why.

Works really nice on my A1-500 with lots of options for downloading, great stuff!

I have a problem that with native fonts turned on It Doesn't use the font set in QT prefs. I get a console window with 'Can't open font Segoe UI.font' 6 times then the window opens with every character displayed as a square.

coincidentally the keyword for this comment is: ChArACteR :-)

Thx for the report.
It used a QDir::tempPath() that is equal to /tmp on AmigaOS.

It should be fixed now, run AmiUpdate.

I got it now, movies are downloaded to t: and the tmp: assign that ffmpeg asks for must be assigned to it.

Stupid me, i didn't realize that there was an arexx script behind the conversion. Ffmpeg simply just can't find the file. I'll look into this when i have more than a few minutes available. Thanks.

I tested from /Work the same video, no problem.

"It would be intresting to see the output message from ffmpeg . "
You can uncomment all "/* say xxx*/" in ClipGrab/Data/RunCommandAOS.rexx.

@zzd10h

Yes converting from cli works
example:
appdir:Ffmpeg -i "Husky Shenanigans.mp4" -vcodec mpeg4 -qscale 0 -acodec libfaac -b:a 128k "Husky Shenanigans.avi"

The targe path point's to /work
It would be intresting to see the output message from ffmpeg .

I use the same ffmpeg than you and it works.

To convert videos in ClipGrab, I use the following ffmpeg command :

APPDIR:ffmpeg -i FileName_INPUT.avi -vcodec mpeg4 -qscale 0 -acodec libfaac -b:a 128k FileName_OUTPUT.avi >NIL: *>NIL:

Could you download a video in "original format" and manually convert it in a CLI ?
Does it work ?

And what is the path that you specify in ClipGrab (in Settings tab) ?

Quality software! :) I like it. But i'm unable to download videos in other file formats than the original format, it downloads the file and then it seems to launch ffmpeg to convert it because i get a requester to assign tmp: if i dont have it but when the assign is done nothing happends, maybe i have the wrong version of ffmpeg? i have ffmpeg 2.5 from dec 13 2014

Still, ClipGrab is a very good alternative :) But i know what you mean, zz10h. Thanks again for the update :)

To be honest, I prefer to use SMTube to stream/download YouTube video and WebReplay to download DailyMotion video but it's an alternative.

found... once again, it ist a "native dialouge"/path problem. When using a native filrequester it only works, if you choose a subdir. Eg. dh1:clipgrab, choosing just dh1: doesn't work. PLUS whenever you trie to load another clip (no matter which format), the native filerequester doesn't work anymore (e.g. button "volumes"). Just downloading in original format always works with native filerequester, even if you only choose a volume (e.g.dh1 or RAM:)
All is fine, when you use inbuild filerequester! This is strange...

No problem here, I have just retried by downloading the OS4Depot archive after have deleted my config file (Qt:home/.config/Philipp Schmieder/ClipGrab.conf)

My test :
-selected the "Charlie bit my finger - again !" video
-selected "AVI" format as conversion output
-selected "RAM Disk/ClipGrab" as output directory.

Could you try this scenario and/or delete your Clipgrab config file ?

Somehow conversion into another format doesn't work. I started ffmpeg via ffmpegGUI once (just in case) -> closed that one -> started ClipGrab downloaded a file and converted it. After it finished I cannot find a new file in stated directory? When downloading original format, it is no problem at all?

The new version is faster and works fantastic! If any of you have installed the QT Quick Fix, then i can assure you QT programs like this one works even faster, and more stable, too, after my own experience. Donate for the program if you haven't, and if you like it. I did a while back :)

I will look at this next week for you and try and find it out, it could have been 'the duck song' although not 100% sure. Need to confirm my end when I get the time to go look see.

Of course, no problem for me. And it's reported to work well for some users without the SDK installed. Maybe it's the name of the video who surfaces a bug in the conversion procedure.

1) What's this name ?

2) Could you change it at the download stage (when a requester opens)?

And thanks to keep me informed.

Not a bad app at all, in fact I am starting to love this. However, I have noticed a problem, which is probably an oversight, if I select AVI as the output format, once the download is complete it asks me for GDB in SDK:... end users (like me) won't have the SDK installed and so this particular process fails - although its great that the Cancel Download button doesn't it job after this failed attempt to convert the clip.

Lionel, thanks to Philipp Schmieder, the original author.

1) The Dock is created inside the program (systray function).
2) yes, I noticed this problem (in the readme), I don't know who to solve that (problem too with german characters)

Very interesting tool, and looks very promising :) Donated 5 EUR for the program. Would donate more, but had limited amount of money on the card, so better with 5 EUR than nothing. YouTube is part of our lives, so this is a must-have :) Thank you so much, Guillaume! Keep them coming! You're doing great! :)
