"checkas" checks for assigns, volumes and devices on "ROM 1.x+"
and has been tested on "ROM1.3" up to "OS3.9".

The checkas usage is explained with the docu-script "checkas_tst"
with the following example:- 

execute checkas_tst ram:

"reslib" is a bonus program.

It is wished for this text to accompany checkas.
It is wished for "reslib.e" to accompany reslib.

"checkas" & "reslib" are currently used in the "amiaudcomp" lib
project if you are looking for another example.
