FastCompress includes 4 tools to compress files and drawers with 2 clicks.
These tools are FastLHA, FastZIP, FastLZX and Fast7z.
FastXXX v1.4
13/02/10
-Archive file name takes the name of the biggest file or drawer compressed
(minus final extension)
if the file still exists (for example, if you try to compress an archive)
or
if the resulting archive name > 25 chars (to avoid problem with FFS filesystem)
the archive name resolution will fallback to the old method
(FastXXX_YYMMDD_HHMMSS.xxx)
-Add of Ringhio notifications when archive is finished, cancelled or if no files
are selected.
Thank to Thomas 'TommySammy' Blatt for the notifications pictures.
-Integration of Chris Young "fitr" tool tags in the ContextualMenu ("BEGIN
FastCompress" and "END FastCompress") to simplify the installation for the next
release.
=> for the next 1.5 release no need to manually delete the old entries in your
ContextualMenus if you want to reinstall these tools in another location.
Thank you Chris to allow me to use it.
FastXXX v1.3
13/01/03
-(13/02/03) reupload to fix a Fast7z issue and to introduce Chris's fitr tags in
ContextualMenus.cfg
-ContextMenu integration is simplified, just 3 types of entries are used,
instead of more than 10 in previous release.
Now, Installer will just add an entry for "Multiple" "Drawer" and "Project"
Thanks to Lionel 'Lio' Muller for the tips
-add of a Pause button :
Pause button stop the execution of the compression at the NEXT step.
The compression will restart when you click again on the Restart button.
Therefore if Fastxxx is compressing a huge file or drawer, the Pause request
will be effective at NEXT entry in the list.
If you have only one file/drawer to compress, the Pause will be useless.
Thanks to Samir 'Samo79' Hawamdeh for the suggestion and the several tests
-add of a Cancel button :
Cancel button cancels the execution of the compression at the NEXT step and
delete the archive
Therefore if Fastxxx is compressing a huge file or drawer, the Cancel request
will be effective at NEXT entry in the list.
If you have only one file/drawer to compress, the Cancel will be useless.
Thanks to Samir 'Samo79' Hawamdeh for the suggestion and the several tests
-add of a AUTOQUIT ToolType
if setted to ON (default OFF), Fastxxx will quit as soon that the compression
is over
Thanks to Joel 'Joeled' Edberg for the suggestion
-fix a bug who crashed Fastxxx when launched from AmiDock with no files
selected.
Now a message is displayed.
-Common catalog for the 4 tools (FastCompress.catalog), easier to maintain for
translators (thank you Javier de las Rivas for the suggestion)
Many thanks to
Lionel 'Lio' Muller, Samir 'Samo79' Hawamdeh and Joel 'Joeled' Edberg for the
tests on this release
and to
Thomas 'TommySammy' Blatt, Javier de las Rivas, Anthony 'Phantom' Iliakis,
Urban 'Niolator' Åhlin for the translations
12/12/19 1.2
Just a quick bug fix
-Correct a bug in the installer who made a wrong path for FastLZX in the
Contextual Menus (thank Chris to have found this issue)
-If you have a previous Contextual Menu installation, the installer will prompt
you to remove it from your ENVARC:ContextMenus.cfg. The file will be
automatically opened
-Fix the Credits into all the README.TXT ;)
12/12/17 1.1
The tools are installable with a standard installer (FastCompress_Installer)
who allows you
1) to copy the desired FastTools into a drectory
The LZX.keyfile will be copied in L: drawer only if no LZX.keyfile is present.
2) to integrate them in your ContextualMenus (optional)
See README.TXT for more infos.
This package replaces the 4 individual packages FastLHA, FastZIP, FastLZX and
Fast7z v1.0
In v1.1,
-Add of a new ToolType DEST_DIR to specify a fixed output directory or volume
(idea of Anthony 'Phantom' Iliakis) except for Fast7z
-Add of "MUI..." submenu to access Fastxxx MUI settings
-Fix the button's shortcuts by replacing KeyButton by SimpleButton (thanks
Samir)
See README.TXT included in each tools drawers for more infos.
FastXXX v1.0
12/11/23
the first FastXXX packages are obsolete and replaced by the FastCompress package
(this one)
Requirements
-AmigaOS 4.1.3 (for support of the AboutBox MUI class, NOABOUTBOX tooltype

LZX)
-PNG .iconmodule for PNG icon
(http://www.os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=library/misc/png_im.LZ
X)
-the compression tools are included in the individual drawers
FastLHA calls directly LHA program included in the Data drawer (from Sven
Ottemann
http://www.os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=utility/archive/lha.lha
)
FastZIP calls zip program included in the Data drawer (
http://aminet.net/package/util/arc/Zip )
(version 2.31 on OS4Depot seems to not manage the permission bits)
FastLZX calls LZX program included in the Data drawer ( from Jonathan Forbes
http://aminet.net/util/arc/lzx121r1.lha ), the keyfile is copied in your L:
drawer by the installer if needed
Fast7z calls 7za program included in the Data drawer ( Joerg Strohmayer's 7za
available here : http://strohmayer.org/ )
(version 4.42 and 4.65 don't work with Fast7z, DSI if multiple
drawers are compressed)
