"DataDisplay" is another one of my 'bloated' programs that I made with Hollywood
3.0. I hope you enjoy it!

This is a very easy to use, and very flexible, Database program. (Check out the
included example databases to get an idea of what can be done with it).

Not only can DataDisplay be used to organize data and media with great ease, but
it is also very configurable in allowing you to display this data and/or media
in an infinite (hyperbole, of course) number of different arrangements.

The various fields (which can be defined as "text," "image," or "audio") can be
positioned litterally anywhere in the display window with the ease of dragging
and dropping. Across the top of the DataDisplay window will appear the name of
the database and the various buttons that are used to navigate through and edit
the data. If your DataDisplay window is not set very wide, you may not be able
to see all of the option buttons at the top of the window---so just stretch your
window wider when you need to use these options. (See the "ToolBarHelp" for
information about what these buttons do.)

The DataDisplay drawer contains two programs: "DataDisplay" (the main database
interface), and "TemplateEdit" (the editor for the database templates). Both of
these programs can be launched seperately from their own icons. If TemplateEdit
is launched from the DataDisplay window (by clicking on the "settings" button)
then the template information from the open database is displayed (and can be
changed) by TemplateEdit.

The configuration information for all databases is stored in the drawer called
"Data" inside a sub-drawer named according to the specific databases that have
been created. When a new database is saved, a new drawer with a "config" file is
created in the "Data" drawer, and a launch icon will appear in the main
DataDisplay drawer. When double-clicked, this launch icon (script) will start
the specified database through DataDisplay. The launch icons for the individual
databases can be copied to new locations, but the script file would then need to
be edited to point to the DataDisplay path (using a text editor like NotePad).

Searching for information within the database can be done for all text fields at
the same time, or by individual fields. Searching can be made phrase specific by
using qutation marks around a group of words (like doing searches with Google).

Currently the maximum number of fields displayed at one time is set at 20; and
the maximum number of records per database is 999.

Special thanks to...
...Mason for his AISS images and icon art-work, and
...Allan C. (acefnq) for beta-testing and giving suggestions for improvement

HELPFUL HINTS:
*To change the background, just put a new picture in the main DataDisplay drawer
and name it "Background" (replacing the current background image).

*Do not use the "bar" symbol ("|") in your text fields, as this is used by
DataDisplay itself for the separation of information.

*While positioning the fields with the hand tool, if you hold down the "h" key,
the field will only move horizontally (the vertical position will be frozen); if
you hold down the "v" key, the field will only move vertically (the horizontal
position will be frozen); if you hold down the "g" key, the movement of the
field will be in snap-to-grid mode.

*In the fields where text can be entered, format tags may be used to add
italics, bold, or underlining to the text. Use "[i]" to turn on italics, and
"[i/]" to turn it off; use "" to turn on bold, and "" to turn it off; use
"" to turn on underlining, and "" to turn it off (without the quotation
marks, of course).

*If you want to force a new line within the text fields of the database, you can
do this by making the margin smaller or use the code "{r}" (again, without the
quotation marks) at the point where you want the new line to begin. (See the
"Example_Cake_Recipe" database for an example of how this works.)
