Proper Cropper 1.3
==================
1. What is it?
--------------
Proper Cropper is a tool to simplify the task of optimally resizing
and cropping an image to fit your workbench screenmode.
Proper Cropper is FREEWARE, but if you find it useful, please send
a paypal donation to:
pete()petergordon.org.uk
Many thanks to all the people who have donated money for my Amiga projects.
2. How to use it
----------------
Load the image you want to crop and resize using "File->Open source
image...". It will be shown as large as possible to fit the screen
(but internally Proper Cropper keeps an original size version which
it uses to create the output file later).
Use the drag box to select the area you wish to save. Note that the
drag box always keeps the correct aspect ratio for your screenmode.
When you have the area you want to save highlighted, change any
quality settings you want in the "Output Settings" menu, then go to
"File->Save output image...". The area you have highlighted will be
scaled from the original image data to fill the screen, and then
an ASL filerequester will open. Put in the filename you want to use,
and it will save the newly created image.
Proper Cropper loads via datatypes, but can only save in JPEG format
for now.
3. Changes
----------
1.3 (06-May-08)
· Now draws the bounding box in COMPLEMENT mode, which means you
should be able to see it even on bright images.
1.2 (08-Nov-07)
· The scaling routine is now better, but you'd only really notice
if you scaled something up massively.
· The scaling routine is a lot more optimised.
· You can now crop relative to any screen mode, not just that
of your workbench.
· Fixed the "jittering" when you tried to scale above the screen
size.
· Uses a better method to ensure the drag box keeps its aspect
ratio.
· Settings are now saved in the icon tooltypes of the program on
exit.
1.1 (02-Nov-07)
· You can now save the same output file as many times as you like.
Also, once saved, just click on the image to go back to selection
mode to select another area.
· 1.0 didn't dispose of the datatypes object (oops!)
1.0 (02-Nov-07)
· First version
