AmigaOS4:
Best way to play it (yet):
1) Check "Override global graphic settings" and
2) Uncheck "Fullscreen mode" and
3) Check "Software Rendering"
in the "Edit Game/Graphics" tab.
The .ini file is just there for conveniance as a lot has changed.
You need to adapt the games data path, but should be able to play immediately.
*** A L P H A / B E T A ***
It's still alpha with a glimpse of beta at least in this AmigaOS4 release.
The reason why it isn't officially supported on the ResidualVM homepage
is because the AmigaOS4 release suffers from some drawbacks.
I decided to compile and upload it anyway due to the many bugfixes.
Requirements and Restrictions:
You need to download the official Grim Fandango patch from here:
http://demos.residualvm.org/patches/gfupd101.exe
Just download it and put it to the rest of the game files in your game
drawer, ResidualVM will take care of the rest.
There is
- Still *no* fullscreen mode (yet) - one can set it, but it will crash
- OpenGL support is now available (check the readme on how to access it)
although i highly recommend *NOT* to use it.
- There are many OpenGL/MiniGL related drawbacks, the most visible
is a Z-ordering bug (I hope i'm not mixing things up here again)
which let you see all kind of strange things, i.e.
o Manny can walk through the mail pipe in his Office
o Eva is sitting behind a partial invisible desk
o Eva is typing on a invisible typewriter
o Manny can walk through the desk which holds the hole puncher
o Manny can be seen inside the elevator to the garage
o In the garage Mannys shadow is too far away
...and lots of other things...expect crashes too
(These will hopefully be history once the new 3D driver becomes available)
- Hardware acceleration is now also useable (it's used with OpenGL)
See above notes on stability and bugs!
*** Any help on fixing the crash with Fullscreen highly appreciated! ***
You will most likely get lots of console warnings which can be considered
normal for that state of alpha/beta and will be removed when the time is right..
Please read the readme!
...and last but not least, due to popular demand...
sobjs NOT in a vanilla AmigaOS4.1 install are within the package
