Cwfloppy is a gui for cw.device (catweasel driver),
this utility can read and write DD/HD Amiga floppy disk as well as DD/HD MSDOS
disks,
as long as you have the newest cw.device available,
(A few known bugs must be fixed before you get the newest cw.device.)
-- Version 3.2 Reaction --
* Bug found, error code (return value) not set correctly
-- Version 3.1 Reaction --
* Bug found in event code, fixed.
-- Version 3.0 Reaction --
* Made a new Reaction GUI
* 720 KB, 880 KB, 1.44 MB, 1.78 MB buttons removed and replaced by chooser
gadget.
-- Version 3.0 beta --
* GPL code removed from the Cwfloppy.
* cwfloppy-0.3.3-2 changes version number from Version 0.3.3 to Version 3.0
* This program do no longer try to access the PCI card direct, now all access is
done using DOIO(), cw.device, only Amiga / Trackdisk calls are used.
* new in this version is the 720k, 880k, 1.44 MB 1.78 MB diskwipe buttons,
* ASL Requester added, so you can select a file to read as diskimage.
* Track status drawn on startup as black boxes.
* Track status drawn, when reading from disk, always green, unless you where not
able to read the file (wrong size, or bad filename).
* Disk size, textbooks is shown in kb, not blocks, now it also should work whit
a loaded disk-image.
* The write to disk button will, now only be enabled when a disk-image is loaded
or you have read a disk to memory.
* cw.device will read a track and notice how many sectors stored on that track,
this how it detects disk format, this way you need to wipe your disk whit the
right number of sectors, new in this version is the 720k, 880k, 1.44 MB 1.78 MB
buttons, this buttons will wipe your disk in the right format, remember to cover
the density hole on your disks when wiping at 720 and 880, and remember to open
the density hole when wiping at 1.44 MB and 1.78 MB, (I do not know if there any
physical difference between disk HD and DD disk, all i know is that data is
stored whit different magnetic properties on the disk on different disk formats,
this is controlled by the disk drive, and not catweasel or any other floppy
controller I know off).
-- Version 0.3.3 --
This is OS4 quick port done by Kjetil Hvalstrand (NutsAboutAmiga)
As I have no experience whit block devices on AmigaOS, so I decided to make
diskimage ripping tool out of the kernel module, Amiga DD disk works fine,
please test and report any thing you find or change or modify the code as you
like, it's under GPL license
I have not changed to many things inside the original code it self, this so that
I can replace the sourecode from new Linux module versions to come, what I have
done is to make wrapper for Linux PCI functions you find this in the
dummy_Amiga.i file, and added a GUI
Supports:
Read from floppy disk
(MSDOSDD,MSDOSHD,AMIGADD, AMIGAHD)
writing to floppy disk
(MSDOSDD,MSDOSHD,AMIGADD, AMIGAHD)
Reading from file
(file most be named ram:disk.adf)
* Tracks are now validated after you have written them back to disk.
* Reading from file is supported
* Menu options not used under read / write operations are disabled
-- version 0.3.2 --
* supports writing to disk
-- version 0.3.1 --
* read disk images
* save disk whit original disk names (only Amiga floppy disks)
