Selecting a group of icons in Workbench has never been this easy and fast. In Workbench, open the disk or drawer where you would like to select icons, press a hot key, enter a search pattern and select the target to which the pattern is applied. PowerSelect will select all icons which match your criteria. Need to select files from several disks or drawers? No problem. Open the disks and drawers where you would like to select files. Activate the first disk/drawer window (click the window title), make a PowerSelect, activate the second window, make a PowerSelect, third, fourth, and up to until the last window. Using mouse, selecting specific files (JPG image files, project files, files starting with letter a, files created on a certain day, etc.) among other files was a daunting task and could take minutes, while PowerSelect selects the files for you in seconds. CHANGES 2.0 (31-Mar-2014) - rewritten from start using C instead of ARexx - PowerSelect is now commodity - you can use AmigaDOS patterns to select icons - you can select icons according to their name, comment, version ($VER tag), protection flags, size, and date - you can limit the selection to disk, drawer, tool, project, trashcan, and app icons - created documentation - new installer script - uninstaller for PowerSelect version 1.0 HOW TO INSTALL? -- Uninstall PowerSelect version 1.0 If you have PowerSelect version 1.0 installed, uninstall it first. 1) Start the uninstaller by double-clicking the "Uninstall v1.0" icon. 2) When the uninstaller asks if PowerSelect hot key should be removed, answer "Yes". The FKey commodity will open. 3) In the FKey window select PowerSelect hot key from the "Defined keys" list and click the "Delete key" button. Then click the "Save" button. 4) Close the uninstaller requester stating that PowerSelect has been uninstalled. -- Install PowerSelect 1) Double-click the "Install" icon. 2) A requester appears asking if you would like to add PowerSelect to Workbench startup modules, i.e. if you want PowerSelect to be started automatically. Answer "Yes" to add PowerSelect to Workbench startup modules. If you prefer starting PowerSelect manually, answer "No". PowerSelect is now installed and running and can be found from "SYS:Utilities/Commodities" drawer. PowerSelect documentation has been copied to "SYS:Documentation/Commodities" drawer. You can change PowerSelect's priority, pop key, and other features through icon tooltypes. You can find the available tooltypes explained in the documentation section "TOOLTYPES".
