Description =========== DIC stands for "Data Image Compress" and is an algorythm to compress data into images. PNG is used as output-format, therefore the executable-name is "dicpng". - The png-image of a compressed data can be shown like any other png-image. - The compression-ratio is nearly that of LHA, depends on data. Seems to have nice ratios on binaries but bad on text-files. - The input-data is threaded in a special way to gain a better ratio. - The info for decompression is stored as a png-tag. Requirements ============ - AmigaOS 4.x - png.library - z.library Installation ============ Copy the executable to C: Usage ===== dicpng does only work from a shell. Arguments --------- IN/A,OUT IN/A - Input filname OUT - Output filename Examples -------- dicpng ram:test - Compress ram:test to ram:test.png dicpng ram:test.png - Uncompress ram:test.png to ram:test dicpng ram:test.png OUT ram:out - Uncompress ram:test.png to ram:out WARNING: The output-file is overwriten without prompt!
