It takes care of all IBrowse tags I know about now, so it should be okay. Also, it used to have hiccups on " " inside link descriptions.. Please report any other problems people! Software stays crashy and buggy when errors arent reported! We should be nearly there! Keep backups, and if jBookmark eats your file, theres a backup from your previous session named "ibrowse-hotlist.html.backup" Introduction ------------ jBookmark was designed for usage with IBrowse2.4 bookmark files. Theres a few issues, where it turns sub groups into groups on the next line down, and doesnt retain information such as "shortcuts" or "show in bookmarks" options, as those werent really relevant to OWB. So when you save your hotlist in OWB, it will lose your IBrowse values. Requirements ------------ OS4, OWB, NListtree.mcc (this class is supplied with OS4 by default now) Usage and Installation ---------------------- First, copy your IBrowse bookmarks to the dir where you want to run jBookmark from. This file is named "ibrowse-hotlist.html". Next, edit this tooltype in OWB's icon: BOOKMARKCOMMAND= You must add the full path and name of the bookmark tool, and add: "%s %s" to the end of the line. The first %s tells my bookmark tool which AREXX port to send OWB's commands to, and the second %s will tell it what OWB's screen is called so it can open on the same screen. The values are filled in automatically by OWB, so dont worry about the strange naming of these two parameters! So, for example: BOOKMARKCOMMAND=work:internet/OWB/jBookmark %s %s In OWB, selecting "External bookmark" from the "Tools" pull down menu, or pressing RAmiga + B will open the jBookmark window. Whenever you exit jBookmark, it will update the bookmarks file automatically. It saves the new bookmarks to a temporary file in RAM: , so that if it crashes for some reason, it will not wipe your existing bookmarks. Once the write is successful, the temp RAM: file will be copied to progdir:ibrowse-hotlist.html. If you do have a problem for some reason, there is a file with your previous bookmarks named ibrowse-hotlist.html.backup. Bugs ---- Subgroups are messed up sometimes. If you use use OWB on its own screen: Iconifying OWB while the bookmarks are still open will prevent the screen from iconifying until you iconify jBookmarks too. The Remove Group window has a right justified line for the group name, but I'm too lazy to fix it. Too many projects atm. If you find any other bugs, please email me your hotlist file with and explanation and instructions on how to reproduce the error. Use this software at your own risk! And keep backups! |
