Hello, I am the author of SSBuilder...

You are wellcome

> Though, none of the programs is working...
You shouldn't start e.g. staticshow.68k... this isn't an executeable !!!! There is another idea behind this:
Start "addslideshow-plugin" (68k AmigaOS only !!!! Not a Hollywood App !!! ) and make your selections. Once you did that, addslideshow-plugin copies everything you need into an chosen "outputdirectory". In case you chose e.g. "staticshow" on platform "AmigaOS 68k" a AmigaOS 68k Hollywood Slideshowplayer (here: staticshow.68k) will be copied into "outputdir" and will be renamed to "slideshow.68k". If you doubleclick this you will get a slidshow playing your images situated in "outputdir".

> Many pictures are way too big, e.g. slide.frm is more than 3MB big while the picture easily could be store in less than 100KB.
might be correct, go ahead and send me a smaller one.

> Maybe you can check which files your archive needs and put them into the archive and check the archive on a clean system
> without anything installed to check if you fulfilled all dependencies and see if the upload makes sense
It had been checked over and over again by different people (see related threads on AN and Amigans) and different OSes, even MAC OS had been tested. However on MAC OS there sometimes (?) where problems regarding "read/write/executable" bits, which had to be set via console afterwards... (not always though ???). As stated above, you didn't use SSBuilder in the way it meant to be..

> And you could save people a lot of their download time to reduce file sizes properly.
> I have seen that you deliver the images in many resolutions.
> You could save much space if you let Hollywood downscale the images from highest resolution. It has many functions for that.
First: output Result will never be as good as Original (Most backdropimages were NOT scaled down !) Second: This allows you to define as many "own" resolutions as you want... Third: Allows you to change resolution even after SSBuilder is finished by replacing "BGPic" inside outputdir...

> Also interesting to see than it /showmodules/ only thw Windows executable has an Amiga icon.
> THis is funny because Windows is the only platform where you cannot view it. Same in /viewmodules/.
Yes, this is funny indeed, I have to admit there are a few missplaced Icons. I have to contact uploader (tommysammy) for this, he was in charge of the Icons.

I suggest you download archive from www.geobiz.de/ibatch.html. There is even a "light" Version including only a few "Backdrop" images (however no OS4.1 reworked Icons in there, only old 3.5 glow style). Basically all "subdirs" of ../addslideshow/ shouldn't hold any Icons, expect addslideshow/resolutions.

BTW SSBuilder was very positively tested by AmigaFuture Magazine... further feedback would be wellcome, donnot hestitate to contact me here, or via iBatch support email (see www.geobiz.de/ibatch.html).

Regards gerograph

I very much appreciate that you compile your program for almost all platforms that Hollywood supports. Too few people do so although this is the idea of Hollywood. Thanks for this.
Though, none of the programs is working because several files or objects are missing, e.g. when starting staticshow.68k/mos you get:
Requested object not found! File: staticshow.hws (current line: 431 - In function: UndoFX)

same for basicshow in line 452
and similar for all the others

SlideAndFly does nothing but eat up all CPU time, only showing a small window with black background.

Many pictures are way too big, e.g. slide.frm is more than 3MB big while the picture easily could be store in less than 100KB.

Maybe you can check which files your archive needs and put them into the archive and check the archive on a clean system without anything installed to check if you fulfilled all dependencies and see if the upload makes sense (because people cannot run it with all the things missing).
And you could save people a lot of their download time to reduce file sizes properly. I have seen that you deliver the images in many resolutions. You could save much space if you let Hollywood downscale the images from highest resolution. It has many functions for that.
Also interesting to see than it /showmodules/ only thw Windows executable has an Amiga icon. THis is funny because Windows is the only platform where you cannot view it. Same in /viewmodules/.
