[Show comments] [Show snapshots] [Show videos] [Show content] [Show crashlogs] Unreal (1998) ported to run natively on AmigaOS4 This is an unofficial, non-commercial fan port - it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Epic Games - Unreal, the Unreal Engine, and all related assets are the property of Epic Games This archive does NOT contain any original Unreal game data (textures, maps, sounds, etc) - you need your own legally obtained copy of Unreal to use this port - this port itself is not sold; optional donations are welcome but never required - that said, donations genuinely make a difference in whether future projects like this one happen at all Shared for preservation and hobbyist interest only Based on the open community source fork: https://github.com/fgsfdsfgs/UE1 Installation: Run the "Install" icon in the System drawer (uses the official AmigaOS4 Installation Utility) - it will ask for the root folder of your original Unreal CD or mounted ISO and copy the required game data into place automatically Changes in this version: Fixed fullscreen mode not being saved/restored correctly between sessions Rebuilt the installer from scratch using the official AmigaOS4 Installation Utility (replaces the old custom Setup program) Fixed big-endian package loading Static linking of driver packages (NSDLDrv, NOpenALDrv, etc) Rewritten threading support for stable audio Various rendering fixes Build optimization pass (O3 + LTO) Known issues: Fullscreen at exactly your desktop resolution may open behind Workbench on some systems - this appears to be system-specific: it has been confirmed working fine on other AmigaOS4 machines - if it happens to you, using a different resolution than your desktop resolution avoids it for now Lighting driver bug in the GLES2 renderer: FPS occasionally drops to around 30 in scenes with many light effects Tested exclusively on: AmigaOne X5000 with Radeon RX580 Average ~60 FPS, dropping to ~30 FPS in scenes with heavy lighting (see known issues above) Feedback and bug reports welcome via the Amigans.net thread linked above Credits / thanks: Bazill and BSzili, for the big-endian fixes and other work this port builds on Walkero, for the AmigaOS4 cross-compilation toolchain and Docker build environment used to build this port Everyone in the Amiga developer community who builds and maintains the tools that make projects like this possible | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
