All you can do is to flap its wings to fly higher, gravity pulls you down. Avoid hitting the hills and other obstacles. Collectable stuff: Coins : Increase score. Score higher by not missing coins. Red Flower: Restore your life-bar. Mushroom: Grow and become invincible for some seconds. Ram through all those obstacles :) Eat more mushrooms to stay invincible. Bomb: Blast away any obstacles. Flag: Get quite some extra points. ------------------------------ Requirements: AmigaOS 4, Warp3D (probably it even runs on classics with those specs, we couldn't test that) Installation: Just un-LHA, preserving folder structure and put the result wherever you want. ------------------------------ New in this version: V12 - Quick'n'dirty hack to somewhat work with the LATEST (!) Wazp3D on RadeonHD setups. Somewhat! There are lots of glitches (no z-buffer, no fun TM ;) ), but it's playable. - Added working Wazp3D configuration file. - General framework improvements. V11 - No visible mouse-pointer in fullscreen mode. - Therefore also no pause-button in fullscreen mode. Use Esc to pause / enter options menu. - thanks to getting rid of MiniGL the game is now fast enough to use the REAL sector flag. Before that it started to crawl as soon as this was rendered, therefore there was only the flag's pole on AOS4. You can still notice some fps-drop related to the flag but it is remains playable. - new voxel optimization leads to some hundreds (or even >1000 in high detail mode) polygons less on avg - somewhat less box-sections - hard mode a bit easier - auto-updater fix - some internal code optimizations and improvements - some hundred KB less storage space required - fix: sometimes (rare) missing bottom polygons on incoming voxels ------------------------------ Tooltypes: FULLSCREENNAME=VoxelBirdScreen where VoxelBirdScreen is the name of the screen you defined for playing the game. If fullscreen is activated through the game's options it will use that screen instead of showing a screen-mode-requester. VSYNC=1 If that is set the game will use vertical-sync when played in fullscreen. SHOWFPS=1 If that is set the game will display the current frames per second and other stats on the bottom of the screen while in-game. CLOSEWB=1 If that is set then the game will try to close the Workbench if playing in fullscreen-mode. ------------------------------ Credits: Code: Daytona675x Gfx: H2o Music: W.O.T.W. SoundFX: Daxx NFO-ASCII-Art: sk!n Special thanks to: AmigaGuru, Bruno, BSzili, David, Epsilon, Irata, Link, Melli, Ria, Yasu ------------------------------ Technical notes: Sorry, the game is still not blazingly fast, but it got much better :) With the current gfx-drivers (which apparently don't know anything about T&L...) I don't think you can squeeze any more performance out of it. Anyway, turned out MiniGL was the major bottleneck. By replacing it by native Warp3D (decent SDK docs, decent SDK sample code, where are you?!) and my own vertex-calculations it now runs about twice as fast on my hardware (sam460ex, Radeon9250) when using the following settings: highest detail-mode fullscreen, 640x480, 16bit VSYNC=0 This version: around 20 fps Old MiniGL version: around 8 fps, massive gfx-bugs So, that means that now highest detail mode is actually playable on AOS4! Besides that the wrong-colored-triangles-at-the-edges-issue is gone, a MiniGL bug. ------------------------------ Notes: This game is free and we do all this in our free time.
