Both Emacs and vi editing modes are available. The Readline library includes additional functions to maintain a list of previously-entered command lines, to recall and perhaps reedit those lines, and perform csh-like history expansion on previous commands. The history facilites are also placed into a separate library, the History library, as part of the build process. The History library may be used without Readline in applications which desire its capabilities. Both clib2 and newlib compiles are included. The modified sources are in the archive, too. The Readline library is free software, distributed under the terms of the [GNU] General Public License, version 2. For more information, see the file COPYING. |
