[Show comments] [Show snapshots] [Show videos] [Show content] [Show crashlogs] Protrekkr is a powerful tracker program combining software synthesis with traditional samples. It can (mainly) be used to create electronic music such as psytrance, trance goa, hard acid, IDM, techno, jungle etc. Being able to produce chip music also makes Protrekkr suitable for small-sized intros, demos or games. The program is a heavily modified version of the old NoiseTrekker 2, written by Juan Antonio Arguelles Rius aka Arguru. The tracker is available for several operating systems: Windows, Linux, MacOS X, FreeBSD, NetBSD, AmigaOS4, AROS & Haiku. This is Release 1 of the AmigaOS4 port based on the official Protrekkr 2.6.3 sources and on the previous port (of version 2.5.5) by Fredrik Wikström. INSTALLATION: Extract the archive somewhere on your harddrive. Run Protrekkr by doubleclicking on its icon. CONFIGURATION: The program is configured from the main menu panel located at the bottom of the program window/screen. Most aspects of the user interface can be configured in the "UI Setup" section. The AmigaOS4 version can further be configured via tooltypes in the program icon. The following tooltypes are supported at the moment: STARTWIDTH - The startup width of the program screen (default: 800). STARTHEIGHT - The startup height of the program screen (default: 600). ROWSPACING - The vertical spacing (in pixels) between the individual pattern rows (default: 8) SPLASHTIME - The amount of time (in seconds) to display the splash screen at program startup (default: 5). HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS: The tracker can get quite CPU-intensive: a 1.5 GHz processor may be the bare minimum when replaying complex modules (16 tracks with all effects/polyphony on). The AmigaOS4 version has been tested and performs well on an AmigaOne X5000/020. Performance on slower systems may be less plausible. |
